სფინქსი (sp'ink'si)=sphinx=σφίγγα

 WIKTIONARY: Etymology

From Middle English Spynx, from Latin Sphinx, from Ancient Greek Σφίγξ
(Sphínx). Perhaps from σφίγγω (sphingo, “to squeeze, to strangle”), or
from Egyptian Szp-'nx (shesp-ankh) 'divine image', literally, 'living
image'.
